Disney Question Referring To NIN

Interesting enough.. NIN on the disney channel...

On Sept. 27, 1998 at around 5:30pm, or 6pm, there was a television game show on the disney channel that I believe was called "Mad Libs". Anyways, I'm in the kitchen getting something to eat, and I hear in one of their "flash rounds", or something to that effect, where the object was to correct an incorrect word in a phraise, the host state the next question. It was "Trent Reznor is the lead singer of Nine Inch Snails". To which one of the contestants rang in, stuttered a few times, then shakily said "Nine Inch Nails?". I just found it strange that a question to a child game show (you know, something a bratty seven year old dork of a brother would watch) had to do with Nine Inch Nails, and it was a game show on the Disney Channel no less.

NIN Delayed Again, Till Spring of 99

Nine Inch Nails delayed till Spring says this radio website here. Sonicnet explained weeks back that when they spoke to Charlie Clouser on the phone that this was happening... well the news is catching on....

Nine Inch Nails For 1999. While there is still no official title or release date, sources report that the new Nine Inch Nails album will be in stores by spring of 1999. Trent Reznor is said to be finishing production in his New Orleans studio with producer Alan Moulder (Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Marilyn Manson). The release of the two-CD set is reportedly to be followed by a US tour. As previously reported, Nine Inch Nails ran two 30-second commercials during the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards. While the ads did not give a name or date for the album, they did include short snippets of songs from the forthcoming album.
Anyways.. I never saw a second commercial they speak of...
AP NIN News New NIN News Featured in new Alternative Press, November l998, #124. this featured on page 15... Word from the Nine Inch Nails camp is that Trent Reznor has been taking a "completely different, kind of funky, very non-industrial" direction for the forthcoming NIN record. Still in New Orleans, Reznor has reportedly been listening to a good deal of hip hop and working with guests ranging from Helmet's Page Hamilton to Marilyn Manson guitarist John Lowery. Also, in this issue is an interview with Zim Zum, Life After Manson.
Large NIN Tid-bit This story was told on 102.1 Edge (Toronto) last night. I don't remember the DJ's name unfortuanatly. He talked about how he became friends with some guys from PWEI. They were in Toronto, around the time of the NIN/Jim Rose tour. He was talking to the band, and they invited him and a friend to go to Montreal to see their show. So they went, and PWEI was opening for NIN (or maybe they were just playing around the same date). After the show the "Poppies" (as he refered to them) told the DJ & his friend to follow them. Along the way the DJ met a guy from Toronto that he knew, so he told him to follow them, even though they had no idea where they were going. They ended up going to Laser-Quest (laser-tag). And when they walked in, who was there but Trent & NIN, Jim Rose and various other members of the groups. They got to play Laser-Quest with Trent and the gang for like 2 hours. He said it was like a NIN video, because it was dark, there were all sorts of weird lights, and people were being shot. Definitely an amazing experience.

No Win For NIN

David Bowie's remix of "I'm Afraid Of Americans" by Nine Inch Nails was nominated for Best International Video at last nights Much Music Video Awards, but lost to Madonna's Ray Of Light.

Manson Music On NBC's Dateline(not NIN, but is good)

Manson music on Dateline report and more...

I just finished watching NBC's Dateline which had a feature about some kids gone bad. The kids started doing petty crimes then arson and then murder.

At the beginning of the bit the newsperson mentioned the kids cruising around listening to Marilyn Manson while "Sweet Dreams" was playing in the background. Other songs, only off of "Smells Like Children" were used in the background. I recognized "Diary of a Dopefiend," "Dance of the Dopehats," "Everlasting Cocksucker," and "I Put A Spell On You." At the end of the report while the newsperson was trying to find a reason to why the kids went bad, Manson was mentioned, but he said that they weren't a factor.

For once there was a newspiece mentioning violence and Manson together, but not blaming Manson for what had happened. I figure NBC will post a transcript of the show on their websight, but I have not checked it out.
I got all of my info from Nine Inch Nails.net
